Painted Steel Quality/Testing

Hanna’s quality assurance team performs extensive tests using the latest technology including Gamma Gauge (X Ray) continuous monitoring system to make certain our steel meets your exact specifications. Our testing expertise and equipment also ensures that our products consistently meet ASTM and NCCA (National Coil Coaters Association) specifications.

Tests for pre-painted coils include:

• Dry Film Thickness
• Destructive Tooke Gauge and Weigh-Strip-Weigh (either in mils or milligrams)
• Non-Destructive Electronic
• Gloss - 60 degree gloss
• Flexibility T Bends to customer specifications
• Color (when applicable) Using Hunter L A B or C I E color references
• Solvent Resistance (MEK rubs)

Hanna also has a corporate accelerated testing laboratory where salt fog testing is performed on our coated coils on a regular basis.
