Film Lube Applications
Automotive
stampers are quickly changing to dry film lubricants because
of extended die life
which means less down time. Another advantage is the dry lube’s
capacity to be welded prior to the cleaning of the part.
On stamped parts
requiring deep draws, dry lubes perform better than pickled and
oiled steel. Because of the low co-efficient friction with dry lubes,
a part can be formed from steel with a different chemistry and potentially
lower cost.
Appliance parts,
both hidden and exposed are being coated with dry film lubricants
by Hanna Steel Corporation.
